Development of Social & Emotional Competence in Child Care

A child’s emotional and social developments occur in the context of the relationship with a primary caregiver in the first few years of life.  It lays the foundation for lifelong mental health.  Providers will learn the characteristics of and identify resources to promote, social and emotional competence in child care.  They will also understand why the theory of attachment is important in the development of social emotional development.
